How mapping will help updating transport stop data

Each urban and interurban transport network updates, completes or adds information, on its stops on a regular basis, with numerous people from the company having to interact with the interface. This means that the database of stops properties must therefore be easy to consult and manipulate, this being possible thanks to mapping, an ergonomic and easy to the eye solution. This is where Camtek can help you with a brand new application.

How does it work? By selecting a municipality, or a line, the stops are positioning themselves on the map, using the geographical data. A vast list of properties is characterising the stops, such as the type of information terminal, the type of terminal communication, the stop situation, the facilities for people with reduced mobility, the type of power lighting supply, etc. All of them and more being added to describe the stop. Therefore, for a property, all available characteristics concerning this stop are displayed.

The dashboard of stops properties is in place, with an instant visualization of the information. Each data can be modified directly on the map to take into account the evolution of the network. It is an efficient way to consult all the equipment deployed on one or more lines, in one area. It is also a way to check all the information and the coordinates of the stops precisely.

Databases are easy to use, but they are not very visual and can be difficult to access when the volume of information becomes large. Mapping solutions, which we all use every day to get around or to locate a place, seem obvious for handling the stop data. This new interface then becomes a strategic internal platform for information exchange and a real surplus of value for the data management.
